I recently attended a colleagues wedding dinner and was reminded again of the wedding service. I realise that at every wedding (in one particular wedding, the minister ALMOST forgot!) that I have attended, the groom is asked to kiss his bride with words something like "You may now kiss your bride.""
What is the significance of kissing your bride at the end of the ceremony? I found this interesting article about the matter.
It is not JUST the kiss that matters, but the KISS while HOLDING HANDS and in the presence of WITNESSES that is important. It is to signify to the rest of the people present of the marriage and union of the two individuals.
It is also suggested that as the couple kisses, they exchange their breaths. This signifies the spiritual union of the two (the Greek word for spirit and breath are the exact same word).
So, this is significant and so I propose that kissing is sacred and should only be between a maried couple.

Kayaking
So this week, we headed out for the second part of our Kayaking Session. This time, the major portion of the trip was a 6km long expedition. The plan was for us to start at Pasir Ris Beach, head out to COney Island, beach up, have lunch then get back to Pasir Ris.
It was rather surprising for me that I struggled so badly to keep up with the group. This is especially so considering that last week I had no problems keeping myboat straight. I would love to claim that it was the boat that was the problem (cos I was using a different boat this time) but the truth is that it is the paddler that is to be responsible.
By the time we got to Coney Island, I was feeling really sick. In the words of one of the guys, "Merlion , liao!" I attribute this 'performance' to the 2x Fan Choy and 2 x Banana that I had for breakfast. I felt MUUUUUUCCCCHHHHH better after my performance. As soon as the stuff hit the water, it was obvious to me which direction the current was flowing at that time. I saw people get out of the water pronto!!!
The rest of the day was alright as far as the kayaing went. Like the instructor said, "Now you are lighter, easier to paddle right."
So there we were enjoying ourselves when we saw a bolt of lightning tear down from sky to earth way away at the refineries. That stabbed me with fear. We all turned around and rushed back to our landing point. Thankfully, we managed to beach up and get our boats back to the centre before the rain really hit us. Just as we started washing the boats, the rain fell. Hard.
Thank you captain for sending us all back home.
I was tired but not aching and really happy.

The Sump Non - Issue
I was woken up this morning with these wonderful words, "Giri, Patti's bathroom has choked. Appa needs your help. Please wake up."
I got out of bed and went down to the kitchen to see my dad with his hand in the sump , digging out chunks of icky stuff. Not the most appetizing site first thing in the morning.
Well, soon dad and I got into the system and we found the problem. The contractor (we suspect) had left a slab of concrete on the outlet leaving only a small hole for the water to flow out of. We broke that concrete and took out the stones and VOILA! the water was flowing free and fast.
Had a really GOOD shower then used antiseptic on my hands before coming back down to join the rest of the public.
Not quite tired, but not quite happy either.

Excellent Birthdays
Woke up in the morning and went to work. Still supposed to report to school for 5 hours.
After work, I headed out to town to return my Halloween and Staff Dinner costumes. Grabbed a cab to do so and the cabbie was kind enough to wait for me to return the costume and come back. He then drove me to Vivo City.
Anna had told me to being my Sequence and be at the Pacific Coffee joint by 1430. I was early, so I got myself a nice seat outside and proceeded to complete a Maths Exam paper that I was trying to do (I realise that I have forgotten a lot of my stuff. I had to spend time to go back to first principles at times just to get to some workable method.)
Anna had told me that it was a surprise for anni cos her birthday was tomorrow. Of he had told her that it was a surprise or me!.
Just before they got there, anna sent me as sms asking me to sit with my back against the door so that she would not see me as she walked in to the store. I did what he asked though at the back of my mind I was sure that I was in for a surprise too.
So anni said hello to me and we played Sequence. Well it was kinda for her birthday so I wasn't trying very hard to win, but she beat me two times in a row without any "kelong" from me! I was so happy for her yet I was upset. Go figure.
Then Lois brought out the cake and all of them sang HBTY. It was a really cool cake. All 6 of us had a good stuffing.
Anna then took out a box wrapped in newspaper. Before I could unwrap the gift, there was a post it on with a question that I had to answer. I answered that question, unwrapped that ;ayer of paper to find another layer of wrapping beneath with another post it on. Another question. I soon had answered 5 questions before getting to the gift box itself.
The box itself contained a myriad of gifts from a book, to personal time vouchers to a book mark. That was really cool.
The next gift was also really cool. Anna took out his set of Scotland Yard and we all played. I got to be Mr X (but they called me BB for that day). That was so much fun, though I got caught ! )c:
On the way back from there I gave Colin a call and we made on the spot plans to play board games at his place. Ended up there and got introduced to Khet (think chess but with Lasers!) and also Station Master. We ended up playing The White Lotus till late. Really enjoyed that.
Next stop (at 10pm mind you) was at Alfred's place. I just hung out there before Alfred and Esther prayed for me. Then went back home at about 1 plus. Had a good sleep.
I was tired but happy.
